Methods Office

Architecture

The architecture of Methods emerged from a restrained and material-driven design approach, where sustainability was embedded into every stage of the project. The building was conceived around a deep respect for nature, with the preservation of the existing banyan tree becoming the defining gesture of the design. Positioned at the heart of the campus, the tree anchors a lush internal courtyard that brings light, ventilation, and greenery into the everyday experience of the workspace. The built form turns inward towards this landscaped core, allowing constant visual connection to nature from all levels of the office.

The courtyard was envisioned as more than a visual element — it functions as the social and environmental lung of the building. Informal seating, breakout spaces, and shaded landscaped pockets were carefully woven around the tree, encouraging interaction while creating a calm and restorative atmosphere within a high-performance workplace. Extensive glazing across the inner facades strengthens this relationship between the indoors and outdoors, reducing dependence on artificial lighting while enhancing spatial openness and transparency.

Material selection played a critical role in shaping both the character and environmental performance of the project. The terracotta cladding introduces warmth, texture, and depth to the facade while acting as a durable and low-maintenance skin suited to the climate. Combined with deep window recesses and carefully designed openings, the facade responds sensitively to light, heat, and ventilation. The distinct curved windows soften the otherwise monolithic form, giving the building a sculptural identity while framing curated views of the landscape beyond.

Sustainability informed every technical and spatial decision within the project. Materials were chosen for their longevity, low environmental impact, and compatibility with LEED Platinum certification goals. Energy-efficient systems, daylight optimization, passive cooling strategies, water-conscious landscaping, and coordinated service planning were integrated in collaboration with sustainability consultants from the early stages of development. The result is a workplace that balances environmental responsibility with spatial quality and user comfort.

Designed to accommodate nearly 200 employees, the office integrates collaborative workspaces, meeting areas, terraces, and a large cafeteria within a cohesive architectural language. The CEO suite was conceived as a distinguished yet understated volume, marked by generous proportions, clerestory glazing, and an abundance of natural light.

At its core, the project reflects an architectural language rooted in simplicity, climate responsiveness, and permanence — shaped by a strong commitment to sustainability and a thoughtful integration of landscape, light, and materiality.
